Elizabeth Joan (Betty) Charlton, 62, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 1999 in Montgomery, Texas.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 9 at April Sound Church in Montgomery. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at China Spring Cemetery with Dr. Randy A. Hughes officiating.

She was born August 5, 1935 in Waco. She graduated from Waco High School and attended Four C Business College. She was a Volunteer of the Year for the Boy Scouts of American in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Donald Ray Carpenter, William Ray Meier and Rodney H. Charlton.

She is survived by her children, Janet Pullen, Blake Carpenter, Bryan Meier, and Carole Charlton; five grandsons; sister, Joyce Sanders of Waco; brother, Douglas Nichols of Houston.
