John Blucher Crenshaw was born in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas, to Myrtle Allie Butts and Samuel Torrance Crenshaw. He attended school there, then attended Alvin Junior College and finally graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1967. John returned to the area and spent many years working as a funeral director for Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, helping so many families in their time of need, where he retired in 1989. He loved the outdoors and camping with his friends. To John anytime was a great time for a campfire ~ even during a “burn ban.”  He was a 30 year member of Fidelis Lodge #1127 A.F. & A.M. and also a member of Karem Shrine Temple. He married Ms. Ruby Gilleland on Nov. 15, 1974. Until his last day on earth “Rubykins” loved and cared for the husband she dedicated herself to.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Ruby Crenshaw, of Crawford; son, Doug McIntyre and wife, Vicki, of Lake Jackson; daughter, Lana Klemcke and husband, Todd, of China Spring; bonus-daughters, Patty Ballard and husband, Andy, of Royal Palm Beach, Fla. and Linda Stewart and husband, Scott, of Austin; grandchildren that he loved so much, Jackson, Jordan and John-Austin McIntyre, Weston and Colson Klemcke, John and Lee Cantrell, Andy J. Ballard and wife, Laura and Nick Ballard; great-grandson, Dalton Ballard; sister, Nita Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
