WACO – Leon Griffith, 60, died Sunday at his home.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in China Spring Cemetery in China Spring.

Mr. Griffith was born in Jones County and attended school in Anson. He moved to Waco in 1966 and worked for Chemical Express. He was a certified diesel mechanic and worked for Diesel Power and Ed Makowski for more than 20 years. He opened Leon Mobil Services, Major and General Repair in 1990. He was a member of Baylor Lodge 1235, Waco Shrine, Scottish Rite Bodies. He married Alice Thomas in 1959 in Stamford.

Survivors include his wife, of Waco; his parents, J.N. and Levada Griffith of Anson; one daughter, Donna Girnus of China Spring; two sons, Roy Dale Griffith and Gerald Wayne Griffith, both of Waco; four sisters, Clara Mae Spalding and Dorothy Jean Bilbrey, both of Hamlin, Evelyn Ann Davis of Austin and Judy Fay Sandbothe of Anson; five brothers, Bobby Griffith, Steve Griffith and Clyde Griffith, all of Anson, and Donny Griffith and Billy Griffith, both of Roby; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
