Military graveside services for Louis Allan Hartig, 58, of China Spring will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Franklin Gage officiating.

Mr. Hartig died Tuesday in a local hospital.

He was born on October 3, 1931 in Skokie, Illinois where he attended school. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, American Legion Post No. 121 and Amvets Post No. 35.

He was also a life member and post commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2148 and past commander of District 29, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hartig of China Spring; three daughters, Susan L. Hartig of Little Rock, Ark., Louise K. Hartig of Villa Park, ILL., and Carol J. Hartig of Birmingham, AL; two sons, John E. Hartig of China Spring and Matthew S. Hartig of Waco; sister, Evelyn Fiorio of Des Plaines, Ill; brother, Robert J. Hartig of Fort Valley, GA; and seven grandchildren.
