Howard D. Hudson of China Spring, owner of H. D. Hudson Building, Inc., died Friday at a local hospital.  He was 54.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Connally/Compton West Waco Drive Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. W. L. Armstrong Jr. officiating.  Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Hudson was born May 20, 1940, in McLennan County, where he lived most of his life.  He graduated from China Spring High School and also attended Baylor University.  He served in the U. S. Army.  He married Beth Anderson on June 17, 1960.  Mr. Hudson owned and operated numerous businesses in the Waco area, including H. D. Building, Inc.  His hobby was music and it led to the creation of Eagle Canyon Express.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg Hudson of China Spring; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hudson of  Dallas; his mother, Mrs. Joe (Mae) Hudson of Waco; a sister, Carol Wilkins of Munford, Tenn., and a grandson.

The family will receive visitors from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
