Mrs. Minnie Alice Lumpkin, 90, of Valley Mills died  Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at a Valley Mills nursing home.  Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at First Baptist Church in Valley Mills with the Rev. Kyle Reese officiating.  Interment will be at China Spring Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday at Foss Funeral Home in Valley Mills.

Mrs. Lumpkin was born on Sept. 14, 1911, in China Spring.  She was the daughter of Charles and Ina (Breeding) Holt. She married Jeff Lumpkin on Feb. 16, 1929, in Waco and he preceded her in death in 1988.  Mrs. Lumpkin had lived in the Valley Mills area most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church.  Mrs. Lumpkin was a cook at Valley Mills ISD and retired in 1975.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Mike Lumpkin.

Survivors include a son, Lawrence Lumpkin and his wife, Aileen of China Spring; a daughter, Alice Eskew and her husband Ray of China Spring; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
