C. C. Mathis, 66, of China Spring, died Friday in a Clifton hospital.

Funeral services 2:30 p.m. Monday in First  Baptist church in China Spring, Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Hoyt Hunnicutt officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Survivors:  Wife; four daughters, Donnis Miller and Mrs. Ethelyne Campbell of Waco, Mrs. Neva Thomas of Moody, Debbie Mathis of Robbins Air Force Base, Ga.; two sons, Glenn Mathis of Riesel, Coy Mathis of Waco; two sisters, Mrs. W. F.  (Eslar) Rutherford of Kempner, Mrs. Lillian Bird of Gatesville; two brothers, H. A. (Red) Mathis of Gatesville, Kyle Mathis of Lomeda; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers: Bill Craig, Terry Holt, Kenneth Kerr, Bill McClain, Milton Talbert, Bill VanCleave.
