Floyd Mitchell, 86, of Crosby, formerly of Waco, died Tuesday in Baytown.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel in Waco, the Rev. Greg Brumit officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was born Aug. 12, 1909 in Wortham Bend. He grew up and went to school in Waco and lived in Crosby the past eight years. He married Ola Mae Chandler in 1931; she died March 19, 1995. Mr. Mitchell worked as a machine operator for Pure Milk Co. in Waco for 25 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Kendrick Lane Baptist Church in Waco.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie Sue Blocher of Conyers, GA; two sons, Leroy Mitchell of Crosby and Eddy Gene Mitchell of Deer Park; two sisters, Luella Ladd of China Spring and Ruby Johnson of Irving; brother, John Ed Mitchell of Wortham Bend; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
