Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth Nelson, 71, of Route 1, China Spring died at 12:05 a.m. Monday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Connally-Compton Downtown Chapel, Rev. Hoyt Hunnicutt officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Survivors:  Her husband Allen Nelson; two sons, Howard E. Nelson of China Spring, Dr. Allen Nelson of Springdale, Ark.; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Smith of 3732 North Twenty-first, Mrs. Jean Balch of 4101 North Twenty-second, Mrs. Joyce Behringer of Valley Mills; her mother, Mrs. W. E. (Pocahontas “Pokie” Bryant, step-mom who raised them) Copeland of Waco; six sisters, Mrs. Zack Norris of Big Bear, Calif., Mrs. Charles Keith of 3710 Windsor, Mrs. Leighton Harville of Leesville, La., Mrs. Larry Pollender of Wickenburg, Ariz., Mrs. Roy Smith of Waco, Mrs. Leroy Gregg of Toledo, Wash.; four brothers, O. L. Copeland, Wesley Copeland and Jamrs Copeland, all of Waco, Hubert Copeland of Leeville, La.; nine grandchildren.

The family will be at 4101 North Twenty-second.
