Norah Belle Peters, 96, of Evant, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2o00, at her residence.  Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8 at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Thesiss Jones.  A family gathering will be at 3710 Austin Ave., in Waco, following the service.

Mrs. Peters was born in Evant, Texas to John Louis and Viola Landingham Sawyer.  She attended Meridian College in Meridian, Texas.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Temple and attended Ruth Sunday School.   She married L. M. Peters on April 22, 1926 in McGregor, Texas.  She was employed as a school teacher in Bosque and McLennan Counties.  Mrs. Peters was a former member of the Temple Garden Club and American Legion Auxiliary.  She was preceded in death by her husband, L. M. Peters; parents; four sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include her daughter; Mrs. Robert “Florine” Curry of Belton, Texas; two grandchilden; and three great-grandchildren.
