William Walter “Bill” Prescher, 75, of Chalk Bluff passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at Bellmead Funeral Home.

Bill was born Dec. 23, 1928 in Clifton to Willie Fredrick and Ella Mae (Mueller) Prescher. He served as a Marine and was very proud to see his son and granddaughter become Marines.

He married Joy Maxine Erwin May 26, 1967, and worked for Central Freight Lines as a Truck Driver for 33 years until retiring in 1990.

Bill was preceded in death by sisters, Leona Knapp and Phyllis Spitzer.

Survivors include his wife Maxine Prescher of Chalk Bluff; sons, Billy Prescher and wife Marty of Chalk Bluff, and Paul Prescher and wife, Veronica of Houston; daughters, Linda Prescher of Marlin and Susan Horne of Chalk Bluff; brother, Leon Prescher and wife Verna of Clifton; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to China Spring United Methodist Church or Parkview Baptist Church.
