Gene Sapp, 80, of China Spring, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 at a Temple hospital.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug 30 at China Spring Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Wright officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29.

He was born Aug. 22, 1925 in Waco to Ira and Ruby Allen Sapp. He was employed as a manager in the oil and gas industry. He was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.

He loved to fish and had a houseboat on the lake. He was also an avid fan of baseball, particularly the Atlanta Braves. He was a loving and caring father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Bouvet Sapp.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Boatman; grandson, Curt Boatman; and great-grandchild, John Boatman, all of Mart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the China Spring Cemetery Association
