Paul (Shorty) Smith, 89, a Valley Mills cowboy and rancher died Friday in a Clifton hospital.  Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. W. T. Parmer officiating.

Mr. Smith was born May 1, 1905, in Valley Mills and lived in Bosque County all of his life.

Survivors include two brothers, W. T. Smith and Raymond Smith, both of Waco; and two sisters, Lucille Smith and Viola White, both of Waco.
