Mildred Louise Stanford, 93, of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday May 30, 2011.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at China Spring Cemetery with Pastor Lori Cotton officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Connally/ Compton Funeral Directors.

Mildred was born in Crawford, Texas, to the late Oscar Monroe and Nettie Viola Summerlin Sanders. She was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of Lake Shore Methodist Church. She married James “Jim” Stanford in June 1940 in Valley Mills. Mildred worked at the Boeing Aircraft Plant in Wichita, Kan., for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 5, 1986; five brothers; sister, Nadine Welborn on May 26, 2011, and two other sisters.

Mildred leaves behind to cherish her memories her sister, Imogene Bass, of Waco; half-sister, Barbara Murphree, of Valley Mills; step-sister, Dorothy Karpinsky, of Waco; brothers, Robert Hamill, of Delaware, and Johnny Hamill, of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members; and a host of friends.
