Bobby Raymond Toten, 72, of China Spring, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, April 9, 2008, with his family at his side.

Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the First Baptist Church in Valley Mills under the direction of Foss Funeral Home.

Bobby was born in Bosque County, Texas, to the late Jesse and Sudie B. (Croford) Toten. He married Fay Shans on April 19, 1980, in Waco. Bobby retired from McLennan County in 1998 and was a foster parent for eight years.

Survivors include his wife, Fay, of China Spring; daughters, Debbie Romine and Joe Soukup, of Waco, Donna Stone and husband, Chris, of Valley Mills, and Beckie Smith and husband, Steve, of Valley Mills; grandchildren, Bobby McClain, Brad Romine and Lacy Romine, Brandy and Jamey Burt, Scott and Ashle Romine, Brent McClain, Tara and Joey McKain, and Jordan Smith; 11 Smith kids; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Wesley and Ginger Toten; sisters, Nell and Bill Sandoff, Bonnie and Leslie Kroll, Joyce and Doug Fryer, all of China Spring, and Rose and Herchell Richter, of Elm Mott; caretaker, sister-in-law and friend, Judy May Shans; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
