James M. Wade, 67,of Bruceville died Feb. 18, 1997, in a local hospital.  Services at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 1997, at Wilkirson-Hatch Chapel, with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating.  Burial at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Wade was retired from the military after 23 years of service.  He was retired from Central Freight Lines after 19 years of employment.  He was an avid race car fan.  He was Baptist.  He was preceded in death by Lois Wade; son, Scott Wade and three brothers, Cecil, Melvin and Chester Wade.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Mae Wade of Bruceville; a daughter and son-in-law, Polly and Bill Smith of Richmond, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Kathleen Wade of China Spring; two sisters, Dorothy Statler of Austin and Rosa Lee Null of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Bobbye Wade of Livingston; and five grandchildren, Marianne Wade, Whitney Wade, Nikki Smith, Noel Smith and Wade Smith.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Kemp, Jim Holcomb, Roger Bruce Wade, Willis Wilcox, Alton Bridger and Wayne Davis.  Honoraray pallbearers will be Thursday Boy’s with Habitat for Humanity and Blue Goose Domino Hall Players.

Visitation from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilkirson-Hatch.  Memorials to Bruceville-Eddy EMS and Habitat for Humanity.
