Leona Greger Weikel, 90, peacefully entered the loving arms of her creator Saturday, March 7, 2009.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Leona was born in Durango, Texas, to the late Fred and Christina Greger. She retired from the Texas Dept. of Public Safety and was a bookkeeper for Dr. Flowers at the Children’s Clinic for many years. Mrs. Weikel was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and a volunteer for the St. Louis Catholic Women’s Society, Providence Hospital and the China Spring Civic Club. She spent her leisure time line dancing, sewing and gardening.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, the former Justice of the Peace, Clarence Weikel; a daughter, Donna Weikel Baker; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Baker.

Mrs. Weikel is survived by her daughter, Brenda Winfield and husband, Chuck; son, Larry Weikel and wife, Tracy; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
