Funeral services for Cap A. Carter, 47, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wilkirson and Hatch Chapel, Rev. Harold Chadwick will officiate with burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Carter died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday in a local hospital. He was brought to the hospital after he became ill about 2 a.m. in his home at 2400 Park Avenue.

Mr. Carter graduated from Waco High School in 1932. He attended Baylor University. He lived in Waco 35 years.

He was an employee of the Texas Highway Department from 1933 to 1943. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1943 and served three years. He was with Waco Transit Co. from 1946 to 1955 and was a maintenance worker at James Connally Air Force Base until 1961. He became an employee of the Waco VA Hospital on July 10, 1961.

Mr. Carter was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, the former Vennie Leal Holt; a daughter, Carol Ann Carter of Florida; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Isace of San Diego, Calif.,; a half-sister, Mrs. Dorothy Lamb of San Diego, Calif.
