J. L. (Dutch) Prause, 87, of Valley Mills, a rancher, died Sunday in a Clifton hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at China Spring Baptist Church, the Rev. John Carroll officiating. Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Prause was born January 25, 1896 in San Bernardo County. He was a World War I veteran and married Vera Bryant in 1918.

He was preceded in death by a little girl, Luelane Prause, twin to Sammy? born Dec. 4, 1931.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Dr. D. G. Prause of Waco, David Prause of China Spring, Danny Prause and Sammy Prause, both of Valley Mills, James L. Prause of Alvarado; four daughters, Mrs. Rex (Naida) Yarbrough of Waco, Mrs. J. J. (Gloria) Helleson and Mrs. N. G. (Alvena) Pocock, both of China Spring, and Mrs. George (Mavis) Reible of Valley Mills; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
