Jesse O. Woodard, 68, of China spring, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday in a local hospital.  He had been ill about six years.

Funeral services will be at  4 p.m. Sunday at China Spring Baptist Church,  Rev Earl Vanderford and Rev. Carl jones officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Woodard was born in China Spring and had lived in McLennan County all his life.  He was a retired farmer and member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors are his widow; a son, J. Nelson Woodard of 3608 MacArthur Drive; a daughter, Mrs. Travis G. Whitfield of Dallas; his mother, Mrs. H. R. Grayson of Merkel; his step-mother, Mrs. Belle Woodard of Hamilton; six brothers Elsie Sapp of Waco, Lee Woodard and Ernest Woodard of Dallas, Alvin Woodard of Van, Orvil Woodard of Houston and Lonnie Woodard of Waco; our sisters, Mrs. Minnie Tune and Mrs. Lelia Pierce of Hamilton, Mrs. Irene Petree of Houston and Mrs. Mildred Smith of West Virginia; three grandchildren.
