Daniel Boone Cox, 78, died at 5:15 a.m. Thursday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at China Spring Baptist Church, Rev. Earl Vanderford officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Survivors: Two daughters, Mrs. L. F. Pate and Mrs. John Ivy, both of China Spring; one brother, Jesse Cox of Odessa; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers: Edward Shaw, Lester Shaw, Dan Wallace, Eli Ditto, Bill Bridges and Osce Turner.
