Mrs. Cora Foster Smith, 74, of China Spring, died at a Waco hospital at 2:34 p.m. Thursday.  Funeral services were held at China Spring Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Rev. J. V. Baird officiating assisted by Rev. Mr. Scott.

Mrs. Smith was born at Independence, Texas, and had resided at China Spring for the past 53 years.  She was the widow of E. Kirby Smith, who died in 1933.

She is survived by one son, Wheeler L. Smith, of China Spring; five daughters, Mrs. Lucille Kennedy of China Spring, Mrs. C. M. Talbert of Waco, Mrs. Cecil A. Darball and Misses Edwina and Claire Smith of China Spring; three grandsons and six granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be W. L. Johnson, A. M. Humberson, J. C. Nall, E. L. Null, W. C. Talbert and S. B. Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers will be J. F. Giddens, S. L. Ringer, R. L. Crawford, A. S. Chandler, Frank Goodall and J. V. Allen all of China Spring; Richard Null of Liberty, and Dr. H. R. Dudgeon, Capt. Howard Dudgeon and Dr. C. E. Collins of Waco.
