DeHay, Queen Ester Blassengan

Daughter of John Darby Blassengame and Charlotte Bujiank Blassengame

Mrs. Queen Esther DeHay, 86, who had lived in McLennan County for 69 years, died Monday morning at 4 o’clock at the home of her grandson, C.L. DeHay, eight miles north of Waco.

Funeral services will be held this morning at 10 o’clock in the Baptist Church at Erath, with Rev. H. D. Tucker, director of religious education at Austin Avenue Methodist Church in charge. Interment will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Olla DeHay, Lyle DeHay, Lee DeHay, Dow DeHay, Foe DeHay, Carl L. DeHay and L. O. Davis.

Mrs. DeHay was born in Georgia, but had live in McLennan County 69 years, all of that time in the same locality. She was widely known and esteemed. She was the widow of B. T. DeHay, who died about 20 years ago. There are no immediate survivors.
