Funeral services for John Louis Sawyer, 76, who died at 9 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Patrick, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at China Spring Methodist Church, Rev. Mike Smith of Waco officiating.  Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery, Clark in charge.

Surviving are three sons, Gordon O. of Rock Creek, John. H. of San Antonio, and Joe Sawyer of Valley Mills; five daughters, Mrs. James R. (Eunice) Robinson of Hereford, Miss Durrie Sawyer of Patrick, Mrs. G. C. Meadows of Waco, Mrs. A. L. Anderson of Brenham, Mrs. L. M. Peters of Temple; three sisters, Mrs. George Sneed of Evant, Mrs. Haywood Thompson of Lometa, and Mrs. Edgar Hill of Ireland, Texas; one brother, T. A. Sawyer of Evant; and 17 grandchildren.

Mr. Sawyer was born in Mississippi. He had been living at Patrick about 16 years.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Active pallbearers will be Mac Crawford, C. Nail, Reul Hill, Jim Carpenter, Tom Curton and Boone Giddens.  Honorary pallbearers will be all friends
