Charles Sam Baker of Aquilla, a 21 year employee of General Tire & Rubber Co., died Friday at a Waco hospital. He was 74.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at China Spring Cemetery, the Rev. Louis Eoff and the Rev. Alvin Eoff officiating.

Mr. Baker was born Nov. 10, 1916 in China Spring. He married Annie Mae Helm on Dec. 11, 1937. He was a farmer and a rancher.

Mr. Baker was a former member of the Woodmen of the World Society and Smith Bend Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles R. Baker of Valley Mills; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Eddie Lois) Rape of Aquilla; a sister, Novelle Dockrey of Valley Mills; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
