L. M. Peters, 82, of Temple died Sunday morning at his home.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Harper-Tallasek Funeral Chapel in Temple, Rev. Ed Stewart officiating.  Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. (He was originally buried in Bellwood Cemetery in Bell County and was disinterred and buried at China Spring in Oct. 2006.)

Mr. Peters was born in China Spring, Nov. 27, 1893.  He had lived in Temple since 1925 and married Nora B. Sawyers in McGregor on April 22, 1926.  The couple recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

Mr. Peters retired from Texas Power and Light Co. in Temple in 1959 after 35 years service.  He had been a substation operator.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Florene Curry of Belton; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Dillenburg of Venus and Miss Laura Peters of Waco; a brother, G. H. Peters of Houston; and two grandchildren.
