W. E. McLennan, age 76, pioneer settler of McLennan county,from whose grandfather the county received its name, died late Saturday night at his home in China Spring.  Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 at China Spring.

Mr. McLennan had resided at China Spring all his life and was one of the leading citizens of McLennan County.  He had been married 52 years.

Surviving Mr. McLennan are five daughters:  Mrs. A. H. Miller, Waco; Mrs. C. E. Gordon, China Spring; Mrs. Ira Armstrong, Fort Worth; Mrs. L. R. Kindel, Beaumont; Mrs. W. A. Riley, San Antonio, and five sons: G. E. McLennan, Fort Worth; W. E. McLennan Jr, China Spring; H. H. McLennan, China Spring; L. V. McLennan, Thornton; N. D. McLennan, Chicago, Ill.
