Dalton “Skeeter” Louis King, 46, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth due to complications of diabetes. The cowboy rides away during graveside services at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at China Spring Cemetery with Pastor Charles Maley of Top Hand Cowboy Church officiating. There will be no visitation.

Skeeter was born July 25, 1960, in Hico, Texas, and lived most of his young life in Glen Rose later moving to New Mexico. He returned to Texas in 1978. He then became a young entrepreneur and co-founded Husky Hut Pet Products which was the first manufacturer of the plastic igloo doghouses distributed nationwide. In 1997 he co-founded his current business, R.W. Trucking. Skeeter was a lover of life. While attending to his business he still found time to travel, read the Bible and participate in the PRCA Rodeo Calf Roping with partners such as Roy Cooper, Joe Beavers and Mike Arnold, all very close friends. Skeeter enjoyed the simple things in life and spent most of his time with his horses and many friends he considered his family. He never met a stranger and was happy to help anyone in need and would give them the shirt off his back if he thought they needed it. Skeeter was one of those people that if you ever met him you would never forget him.

Skeeter was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Smith; his father, Bobby Joe King; and his grandparents.

Skeeter is survived by his life long friend, Rick Wardlow and family of Fort Worth; brothers, James King and family of Fort Worth; Bobby Joe King Jr. of Blum; sisters, Bobby Marie King of Houston, and Lisa Booker and family of Blum; step-father, Aubrey Smith; step-brothers and sisters from both sides; special foster siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces; and several close friends, business associates and roping colleagues, all he considered his family
and whom he loved and cared for dearly.

A special thanks to Sharon Wilson and family for the care and attention they gave Dalton during his illness.
