Wynona “Sis” Carpenter, 86, of China Spring, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in a Whitney nursing home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, at China Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Paul G. Smith officiating.
Mrs. Carpenter was born Sept. 21, 1918, in China Spring to Carl and Henrietta Drahn Crawford. She married Coke C. Crawford June 29, 1936. He preceded her in death July 19, 1982. She was a lifetime resident of the China Spring area and was a member of the First Baptist Church of China Spring.
Mrs. Carpenter was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Oleta Wallen and Dorothy Talbert; two brothers, Edward Lorahn Crawford and O.C. Crawford.
She is survived by sister, Corinne Garrett of Waco; brother, Billy Mac Crawford and wife Lula of Whitney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
