Patricia Carol Schwartinsky Ballard, 71, of Waco, passed away February 7, 2015. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Burial will follow in China Spring Cemetery.

Pat was born in McLennan County, Texas, the second of four children born to the late Graden Alois and Jimia Lee Walter Schwartinsky (later Jimia Lee Wallace). She graduated from Lorena High School with honors and attended Texas Women’s University in Denton. Pat Retired from the Texas Department of Human Services. She was a member of the New Harvest Fellowship in Elm Mott, Texas.

Pat was athletic, a great cook, and an avid gardener always having too many plants everywhere inside and out. She loved boating, skiing, fishing and was an excellent marksman with a rifle.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James F. Walter and Ollie Mitchell Walter; and paternal grandparents, Gustav Frank Schwartinsky and Mary Schwartinksy.

Survivors include her son, Terry Holder, of Elm Mott; grandsons, Patrick Holder and wife, Jacquline, of Georgia, and Jeremy Holder, of Ft. Bliss, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Cassidy Holder McGehee and husband, Justin, of Lampasas; great-granddaughters, Haiden and Kendall McGehee, of Lampasas; great-grandson, Landyn Holder, of Georgia; brothers, Alois Gene “Bubba” Schwartinsky, of Liberty Hill, and Ronald Schwartinsky, of Waco; sister, Darlene Vise and husband, Ted, of Elm Mott; six nephews; four nieces; six great-nephews; seven great-nieces; two great-great-nieces; twin great-great-nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends.
