Dana F. Crawford, 72, of Waco, died Saturday at a local hospital. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. D. Michael Toby officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Family visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Crawford was born Nov. 29, 1927, in China Spring, the only child of Bernice (Bunk) Crawford and Louise Giddens Crawford. He graduated from Waco High School in 1946, and Baylor University in 1951, first in his class. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Occupational Forces in Japan in 1946. He was also a Korean War Veteran, stationed at Camp Polk, LA. Mr. Crawford was an employee of Central Texas Iron Works, serving as Chief Financial Officer for 30 years. He was with Investors of Texas for eight years. He married Beverly (Gill) Dameron Sept. 25, 1993, in Waco. Active in community service, Mr. Crawford was a member of the Board of Directors of Waco Girls Club and a former Trustee of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and United Way of Waco. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Crawford of Waco; two sons, Ronnie Crawford and his wife Keren and Randy Crawford and his wife Dawna all of Waco; and six grandchildren, Shelley, Blake, Lindsay, Scott, Katie and Kyle Crawford.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Johnson, Blake Crawford, Scott Crawford, David Miller, Jim Brooks, Tim Kohn and Steve Mitchell.
