Fannie Joy Crawford, 87, of Valley Mills, went to her heavenly home to be with her Savior, Saturday, January 9, 2016, in Clifton, Texas. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Foss Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be in China Spring Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Joy was born in Lake Okeechobee, Florida, during one of Florida’s deadliest hurricanes, to the late Rev. R. H. and Mabel (Ryals) Whitcomb. Her family was one of the few where the entire family survived. She worked at Walls Manufacturing for several years before retiring to become a homemaker. Her greatest love was her Lord and her family. Joy was a member of Valley Mills Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, O.C. Crawford; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Gunter and husband, Charles, of Valley Mills, and Gail Hand, of Waco; sons, Richard Crawford and wife, Wanda, of Turnersville, and Randy Crawford and wife, Molly, of Canyon Lake; grandsons: Johnny Gunter, of Waco, Jody Gunter, of Valley Mills, Joe Crawford, of Gatesville, Billy Crawford, of San Antonio, and Allen Thompson, of Turnersville; granddaughters, Theresa Hengst, of Waco, and Juanita Thompson, of Gatesville, numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Schneider, of Florida; and so many loving and devoted nieces and nephews from Florida, Arizona, Texas, California, etc.
