Lola Mae Ferguson Cross, 84, passed away Tuesday, July 23 in a Clifton nursing home.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 26 at 11:30 a.m. at China Spring Cemetery. Chaplain Curtis Holland will officiate.
Lola Mae Cross was born April 24, 1912 in Waco. She moved to China Spring as a small child and attended school at China Spring. She was the co-owner of the Airport Restaurant at Muncipal Airport and later in life worked at Wonder Bread Thrift Store.
She was a member of the China Spring Baptist Church. She married John Cross on December 30, 1930 and he preceded her in death October 24, 1985. She was the beloved mother of five children.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruby Fae Parsons of Grand Prairie.
She is survived by three daughters, Wanda Brooks of Hewitt, Jean Patrick of Speegleville, and Joyce Thiele of Clifton; son, John Calvin Cross of Moody. She was the beloved grandmother of 15 grandchildren, Doyle and J.D. Cross, Johnny, Bobby and Jerry Parsons, Dolores Haferkamp, Sharone Holle, Shirley Bolfing, Marilyn Reed, Doris Board, Brenda Cheyne, Carolyn Jackson, Cindy McCutheon and Rhonda Donahue. She has 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Francis Pruette, Margaret Crowdis and Jewel Butler.
