S. B. (Nig) Ferguson, 78 of China Spring, died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the China Spring Baptist Church with Rev. W. H. Hunnicutt and Rev. Carl Jones officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Ferguson was born in China Spring and attended local schools. He farmed in the China Spring area and had a grocery store and a drug store in the community. He was a constable in China Spring from 1954-1968.

Mr. Ferguson married Alice Grayson in 1913. She died in 1965. He was a member of the China Spring Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Nelson Higginbotham; two sons, C. W. Ferguson of China Spring, and T. G. Ferguson of Austin; two sister, Mrs. Roland Bell of Bryan and Mrs. Lester Oliver of Waco; two brothers, Liddell Ferguson of Waco and Frank Ferguson of San Antonio; and three grandchildren.
