Mrs. Stafford (Lena) H. Garrett, 71, of Waco, died Wednesday morning at a local hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home, the Rev. Kenneth Boatman and Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrett was born Aug. 26, 1912, in McLennan County. She attended China Spring schools and Waco High School. he attended Southwestern State Teachers College and taught school in Concord.
She was employed by Texas Power and Light Co. for a number of years. Before retirement, she was employed by the accounting department at Providence Hospital. She was married to Stafford Garrett in 1932.
She was Chaplain of American Legion Post No. 4401 auxiliary, a member of the Disabled American Veterans auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2148 auxiliary and Robinson Drive United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marjorie Kor of Everman; a sister, Ruby Goad of Waco; and three granddaughters.
