Stafford J. Garrett, 81 of Waco, died Monday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Woody Flynt officiating. Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Garrett was born Jan. 15, 1911, in Erath and attended schools there and in China Spring and Waco, graduating in 1929. He married Lena Helleson in 1932; she died in 1983.
He was a veteran of World War II, stationed in India, Burma and China, and was a 40 year employee of the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was a Mason and a member of Scottish Rite, Karem Shrine, Veterans of Foreign Post No. 1224, AmericanLegion No. 440, Disabled American Veterans and Woodmen of the World.
He also was a member of Robinson Drive Methodist Church and South Waco Senior Citizens Association.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard  (Marjorie) Kor of Granbury; sister, Mrs. Jack (Frances) Anz of Clifton; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
