Mrs. Edith Hatfield, 77, of Waco died Thursday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, George Norris officiating. Burial in China Spring Cemetery.
Mrs. Hatfield was born Sept. 24, 1907, in Moody. She was married to E.K. Hatfield in 1950 in Waco.
They operated several Waco businesses, including a recreation area called McClellan Crossing, where entertainers, including Willie Nelson, Little Jimmy Dickens and the Everly Brothers performed. She retired in 1978. She was employed in businesses around the Baylor campus and at the YMCA. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2148.
Survivors include her husband, E.K. Hatfield of Waco; daughter, Mrs. EarlDean Smith Kornegay of Waco; stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara Holland of Fort Worth; stepson, Gary Hatfield of Bosqueville; brother, A.E. McDonald of Waco; two sisters, Mrs. LaDena Marshall of Waco and Mrs. Naomi Mullins of Aquilla; and six grandchildren.
