Margie Janell Carruth Johnson, 64, of China Spring, died Monday at her residence.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at China Spring Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Hall officiating.  Interment will be at China Spring Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m.Wednesday at Foss Funeral Home in Valley Mills.

Mrs. Johnson was born Oct. 19, 1935, in Fairland, Texas.  She was the daughter of Vic and Alma Jewel (Townsend) Littleton.  She grew up in Terrell County and attended Sanderson Schools graduating in 1954.  She received her degree in Elementary Education from Baylor University in 1969.  She married Tom R. Carruth in 1954.  He preceded her in death in 1979.  She later married Clinton R. Johnson on Jan. 1, 1981, in Gatesville.   She lived in the Waco area for over 30 years.  She taught in elementary schools in Oglesby, Gatesville and China Spring.  Janell touched many lives through her teaching experiences.  The friendships that she formed were very dear to her.  Some of her interest were reading, visiting with friends, being with family and supporting all of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton R. Johnson and her children, Robin Thornton and her husband James of Cuero, Claire Beckner and her husband Barry of China Spring; step children, Cindy Parker and her husband Douglas of China Spring, Lori Allen and her husband Kenny of Hillsboro, Clinton R. Johnson Jr. and his wife Claire, Jerry Johnson and his wife Charlotte; two sisters, Sylvia Littleton of Abilene, Vicky Sanders and her husband Wayne; two brothers, Bobby Jett Littleton and his wife Linda of Knippa, Bill Littleton and his wife Brenda of Cureo; five grandchildren, J. R. Thornton, Tori Belle Carruth, Tommy Beckner, Austin Beckner, and Adam Beckner; step-grandchildren, Aubrey Parker, Lindsey Parke, Shea Parker, Kelly Allen, Kori Allen, David Johnson, Clinton Johnson, Matt Johnson, Jake Johnson, Dusty Johnson, and Katy Johnson; and one great-grandson, Nathan Johnson.
