Marion D. Norris, 73, of China Spring, died Friday at at local hospital.  Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at  Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Norris was born  Sept. 15, 1926, in Kentucky.  He served in the U. S. Army from 1946-1948.  He married Georgia Marie Cox Jan. 6, 1948, in Maysville, Ky. and they moved to Texas in 1949.  The Norris’ moved to China Spring in 1957, where he started dairy farming.  Upon his retirement from farming, Mr. Norris worked at Star Tex Propane until 1991.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Eldon Norris; and a close friend Jake Curton.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Georgia M. Norris of China Spring; three daughters, Donna Plemons and her husband Donald of Austin, Linda Jander and her husband Tim of Lorena, and Susie Norris of Robinson; one son Dale Norris of Hewitt; one sister, Deana Jones and her husband Joe of Ohio; two brothers, Jack Norris and his wife Sheryl and Billie Norris and his wife Phyliss, all of Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Jackie Norris; five grandchildren, Keith Plemons and Grisel, Crystal Plemons, Jared Jander, Jennifer Jander and Bailee Norris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Jimmie Kerr, Jerry Don Mathis, Billy Johnson, Douglas Brown, Frank Watson, and Joe Burt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Kerr, Charles Lindsey, Wilburn Winklemann, R. B. Hardy, Delbert Whiteside, Henry Faubion, Carlton Adams, Newman Copeland, and numerous other friends.

Memorial may be made to the China Spring Volunteer and “Rescue” Fire Department.
