Lyle was born April 16, 1947 in Wichita Falls to Maxine Walraven of Wichita Falls and Lyle E. Parker, Sr. of Billings, Mont.  Lyle grew up in a very special family.  His younger years were divided between going to school in Wichita Falls and summers in South Dakota on the family farm.  He was a 1967 graduate of Rider High School and briefly attended both Midwestern University and TSTC.  Lyle married Patti Jo Grierson in 1969 and moved to the Waco area.  They were married 14 years and had two children, Susan and Jay.  Lyle went to work for the Waco Tribune Herald as an apprentice at the age of 22 and worked his way up to Production Director.  He devoted 27 years to the Trib.  After several vocational opportunities, Lyle chose to advance his career and moved to Bryan-College Station where he became the Production Director of the Eagle.  Along with his new position, Lyle acquired many great friends who could be considered family.

Lyle loved the outdoors, his John Deere tractor collection and spending time with his family and friends.  He helped raise two children and was involved in many parts of their lives.  he coached little league baseball, softball, and soccer.  Horses, carpentry, and the History Channel were also passions in his life.  In 1991, Lyle met Deborah and the “Brady Bunch” was formed.  Through thick and thin, in good times and bad, Lyle was there for everyone and had helped shape many lives.  He was truly a jack of all trades. he planned his work, and worked his plan.  The man who even make the trees listen.
