Hildegarde Phillips, 83, a 51 year resident of China Spring died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at a local nursing facility.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Allen Grant officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips was born Sept. 16, 1920 in Washington County, Texas near Brenham to Theodore and Henrietta Niemeyer Linneman. She was married to R. T. Phillips for 46 years. She was an active member of the China Spring United Methodist Church where she was involved as head greeter. She was also involved in the women’s group, Harvest Festival and Community Senior Citizens Group. She was supportive of the current pastor and previous pastor. She volunteered for Hillcrest Hospital where she worked in the gift shop for 15 years. Anyone that knew her knew that she was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. She was caregiver for her community and was a good neighbor. Everyone loved to eat at Hilde’s. She was very proud of her sons.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers and sisters, Edwin Linneman, Herbert Linneman, John Linneman, Theodore Linneman, Ella Schmedthorst, Lilly Hancock, and Clara Wheeler; and a son, Dennis Phillips.

Survivors include children, Ray Phillips of Mesquite and Ronnie Phillips of Hewitt; daughter-in-law, Loretta Phillips of Mesquite; grandchildren, Beth Riley, Michelle Schroeder and husband, Craig, Todd Phillips, Amy Phillips Arellano and Steven Phillips; and great grandchild Patrick Riley.
