Vester Duane (Polly) Pollard, 68, of Waco died Friday at a local hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. H.F. Meier officiating. Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Pollard was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Osage and attended Osage schools. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of Four-C Business College. He was employed by Texas Fireproof Storage Co. before purchasing it in 1956 and serving as president. He was a director of Allied Van Lines. He was a member of Waco Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Kiwanis Club and Austin Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. V.E. (Sue) Thate of Jackson, Miss., and Miss Jo Pollard of Houston; and two grandchildren.
