Bertrand Allison Talbert, 87, of Valley Mills died Thursday Nov. 14, 2002, at his residence.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at China Spring Cemetery, with the Rev. Kevin Moore officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd.

He was born Dec. 16, 1914, in China Spring to the late John J. and Susie J. Crowson Talbert.  He attended Waco Schools.  He later married Dorothy Crawford on Nov. 19, 1938, in China Spring; she preceded him in death September 1990.  He was also preceded by three brothers and five sisters.

Mr. Talbert served on the Crawford ISD school board for 16 years.  He was dairyman and farmer by trade.  A former member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Crawford, he was presently a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of China Spring.

Survivors include sons, Rodney Talbert and wife Dorothy of Crawford, Randy Talbert and wife Linda K. of Houston, Mike Talbert and wife Linda of Dallas, Tim Talbert and wife Regina of China Spring; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Annie Pearl Payne of China Spring.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of China Spring or your favorite charity.
