Mrs. Sam (Lena) Talbert, 73, of China Spring died Tuesday evening in a local hospital.  She had been ill several times.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at China Spring Baptist Church, Rev. Hoyt Honeycutt officiating.  Burial will be in China Spring Cemetry.

Mrs. Talbert was born in China Spring and attended China Spring schools.  She was a member of China Spring Baptist Church, and a member of the missionary society a number of years.  She taught a large Sunday school class several years.

She married Sam Talbert, Dec. 24, 1919, and he died Dec. 17, 1971.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. James C. Ragsdale of Mesquite; a son, Ted M. Talbert of 3829 Frederick; a sister, Mrs. B. A. Crawford of China Spring; a brother,Dana N. Giddens of Austin; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
