Funeral services for Mrs. J. J. Talbert, 86, of China Spring will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in China  Spring Baptist Church, Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Earl Vanderford officiating, burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mrs. Talbert died at 4:30 p.m. Monday at her home.

Mrs. Talbert was born in East Texas.   She moved to McLennan County in 1881.  She married J. J. Talbert Sr. July 23, 1893, at Brush Church.  Mr. Talbert died in 1951.

She had lived in China Spring since 1896.  She was the oldest living member of China Spring Baptist Church.

Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. W. W. Payne of Waco, Mrs. Oscar Payne of China Spring, Mrs. C. A. Burt of China Spring, Mrs. W. A. Dorris of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. T. K. Chandler of Dallas, and Mrs. Frank Grijolva of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sons, L. E. Talber of Happy, J. J. Talbert Jr of China Spring, C. O. Talbert of Valley Mills and B. A. Talbert of China Spring; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Thomas os San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Georgia Culverhouse of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Lucy Norman of Eden; 34 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
