Purvey Lee Toten, 80, of China Spring died Sunday, September 6, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lighthouse Church in China Spring. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery with Rev. Alton Ray and Regina Easley-Young, chaplain, officiating. The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lighthouse Church.

He was born May 14, 1918 in Smith Bend, Texas. He worked in construction and was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katy Toten; and a daughter, Faye Anderson.

Survivors include five sons, Eugene Toten, Purvey (Bud) Toten, Donald Ray Toten, Kenneth Toten and Pee Wee Toten; daughter, Hazel Laverne Crews; sister, Addie Britt; brother, Jess Toten; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
