Daughter of Brian Lee Wood and Penny Kaye Erwin Wood

Meagan Kaye Wood, 10, of China Spring, died Saturday May 1, 1999 as the result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be at 3 pm Thursday, May 6, 1999 at First United Methodist Church at Lake Air & Cobbs Dr., with the Rev. Richard Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from  7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

Meagan was born in Waco, May 18, 1988. She was a 5th grader at China Spring Elementary. She played basketball and was very active in the China Spring Youth Association softball. She was taking dance and gymnastics. She loved her church, Oak Grove Baptist.

She was preceded in death by Jesse and Ina Wood, Alton and Maxcine Moran and Edwin Wolske.

Even though Meagan’s life here on earth was short, her accomplishments were many. She has forever changed the lives of those she touched. Meagan is loved and she loved with all her heart.

Survivors include her parents, Brian and Penny Wood of China Spring; sister, Emily Rebecca Wood of China Spring; brother, Collin Lee Wood of China Spring; maternal grandparents, Doris and Donald Erwin of Waco; paternal grandparents, Dr. Gaylon L and Jan Wood of China Spring and Susan and David Williams of Round Rock; maternal great-grandparents, Alma Wolske of Waco and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ilbery of Waco and J. W. and Millie Williams of Briggs; aunts and uncles, Gary and Susan Erwin, Larry and Karen Erwin, Danny Erwin, Rebecca and Jim Lander, Greg Korioth, Tracey and Gene Pickens and Mindy and Jamey Lincoln; and cousins, Shawn, Sarah, Morgan, Jessica, Cole, Casey, Michael, Blakeley and Kaylee.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Gholson, Kevin Sells, Joe Villa and Joe Stewart. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Erwin, Larry Erwin, Danny Erwin and Greg Korioth.

The family will be at the home of Dr. Gaylon and Jan Wood in China Spring.
