Billie Louise Honea Lewis, 87, peacefully passed away in the company of her loving family on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10th, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Graveside rites will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 9th, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Billie was born January 20, 1930, in Waco, Texas, to Albert Clinton Honea, Jr., and Ethel Mae (Anders) Honea. After attending Waco High School, Billie married the love of her life, W.M. “Dubb” Lewis. Together, they traveled the world for 23 years while Dubb honorably served in the United States Air Force. After retirement, Billie and Dubb settled in China Spring running several businesses together including a grocery store in Golinda, Texas where people came from all around to socialize with the Lewises. Ultimately, the couple became a realtor team.
Billie was small in stature but had a dynamic presence wherever she went! She had an infectious spirit that everyone around her felt. Whether she was dancing, listening to music, or at the casinos, “she would shine anywhere”!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dubb Lewis; her parents, Albert Clinton Honea, Jr., and Ethel Mae (Anders) Honea; and her sisters, Nina Honea Jackson and Betsy Honea King.
Billie is survived by her son, Clinton W. “Clint” Lewis and wife Anne, of Beaumont; daughter, Carla Ramon, and husband Maurice (her favorite son-n-law) of China Spring; stepsons, Larry T. Lewis and wife, Gloria, of San Antonio, and William M. Lewis, III, and wife Nan, of El Paso; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Pallbearers include David Crook, James Lucky, Lee Bauman, Ethan Blanton, Kent Zambrana, and Logan Theriot.
Honorary pallbearers include all of her other grandsons and great-grandsons.
