Frances E. Stier, age 88, of China Spring, Texas passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, at her home surrounded by family. 

Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 30th at the China Spring Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home and Cremation Center. 

Frances was born on May 7, 1931, in Crawford, Texas, to Charlie and Ellen (Jones) Kirkland . She was married to Don Stier on September 18, 1958. Frances was manager at F. W. Woolsworth Café for 10 years. She owned Valley Mills Flower and Antique Shoppe for many years until she had to sell the business in 1986 in order to care for her mother. Frances was a member of the China Spring Methodist Church. Frances was known as the helping lady. She took food to everyone in need, giving clothes to families and sharing her home. She made canned goods with everyone. She will always be remembered for the pies she baked for the China Spring Fire Department fundraisers. Frances was names Volunteer of the Year in 2009 by Meals on Wheels in Waco. 

Frances was preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her husband Don Stier. Frances is also survived by on sister, Jean (who stated that Frances was like a mother to her) and her husband Kenneth Brown; grandchildren Michelle, Landon and Chris. Chris lived with them from the age of 7; and great-grandchild Morgan. She is also survived by a nephew, Kenny and wife Kathy Brown; and great-nephew, Nukya and wife Wendy along with their child Nikki.
